James
Allumbaugh is a Dallas native who holds a doctoral degree in sculpture
and art education from the University of North Texas. He is a former
Professor of Art at Texas A&M University at Commerce, and has taught
art to students of all ages and at all levels.
He has exhibited his sculpture throughout Texas, and from Florida, to New York, to Alaska to Hawaii. He is interested in the harmonics of expressive geometry and reductive structuralism, and his integration of techniques and materials with geometry, color, light and reflection have resulted in novel configurations---with the intent that the viewer might experience the "dance" involved in the creative process.
