Barbosa was born in 1955 in Ocana, Colombia. In 1975 he moved to Venezuela
and in the mid eighties set up his workshop in San Francisco de Yare,
near Caracas.
Barbosa is a self taught artist who has had one-man shows in Caracas, Miami and Paris. The Museo de la Estampa y del Diseno Carlos Cruz-Diez in Caracas presented an exhibition of his "Doors" in 2002.
Since 1981 Barbosa has taken part in collective exhibitions in Venezuela, the USA, France, Switzerland, Italy and Hungary. He is a member of MADI Venezuela, and he has works for sale in the MADI Museum store as well as works in its permanent collection.
