Marta
Pilone was born in 1947 in Portici-Bellavista, close to Naples. She
obtained a diploma as an engraver of coral and a degree in Sculpture
and Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples. She worked
as an artist with various groups until 1998 when she became part of
Arte Structura in Milan and of MADI International of Italy.
She now realizes her works in plexiglas, which she integrates with the
environment. Her composition is simple and often transformable, in order
to include the observer.
In addition to Italy, she has exhibited in Hungary, France, Germany, Slovenia, Holland, and Argentina. This is her first time to be featured in an American Museum.
