Three African-American Artists: Kevin Cole, Albert Shaw, and Jack White curated by Phillip Collins
Born
in Berlin, Germany and a student of Reuben Tam at the Brooklyn Museum
Art School, Martin had many on-man and group shows in art galleries
in New York City, Boca Raton, Montreal and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He enjoyed a long and successful art career both as a commercial art director with Dell Publishing in New York City and as a creative geometric abstract artist. Perhaps attributable to his early apprenticeships in the diamond trade, his work is a commitment to hard-edge standards.
Cool, expert, judiciously planned geometrical painting
which work
out close color relationships with considerable finesse.
