Art Exhibit Openings in Dallas: Mokha Laget at the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art

This new, solo exhibit will be composed of over 20 breathtaking works including Laget’s signature shaped paintings, using unconventional clay pigments, and colorful lithographs. Her work, though firmly rooted in an art historical context, is inspired by her life experiences in locations such as the American Southwest, Japan and North Africa.

The Local Artist Spotlight for October is Alan Engisch, who earlier curated a digital art show for the Museum.  While Alan is a digital artist, using Microsoft Excel to create his art, he studied at the Pratt Institute and the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, where one of his instructors was Hannes Beckmann, who studied at the Bauhaus in Germany.  Another was Hilaire Hiler, and he is indebted to Josef Albers and Bridget Riley, among others.
