Blaszko (Martín Blaszkowski) was born in Berlin in 1920. Since his family was Jewish, they moved to Poland in 1933 and then to France in 1938. They immigrated to Argentina in 1939.

Blaszko later became an Argentine citizen. In the meantime, he studied art, and in 1945 became a disciple of Carmelo Arden Quin and helped found the MADI movement. The first MADI Art Gallery was in his apartment.

He has won prizes in London, Brussels, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. He has lent the MADI Museum two recent steel sculptures, which are on display in the museum.
