EXHIBIT | Biennial: Origins in Geometry

Biennial: Origins in Geometry is a juried competition to recognize excellence in emerging visual artists deriving inspiration from geometric abstraction.  Artists who are selected as finalists will be featured in an exhibit at the Museum July 26 through October 20, included in a catalog with other finalists, receive exposure on the museum website, and have the opportunity to win cash awards for their exemplary work.

EXHIBIT | FRESH LOOK: a selection of Women from the Madi Collection

This exhibit curated by artist Mokha Laget will feature selections from female artists of the Madi’s collection. It opens with a reception on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. and runs through July 21, 2019.

EXHIBIT | Ricardo Paniagua & Hernan Jara

Ricardo Paniagua grew up in Dallas. He describes his path to becoming an artist as an inspirational journey: “I had to fend for myself from an early age. I dropped out of high school in the second month of my sophomore year. When I was 20, I discovered artist’s paint, and became enthralled with the idea of limitless potential.

Hernan Jara was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1936 and received Architecture and Urban Design degrees in France, where he currently lives and works. His geometric paintings focus on varying interpretations of the square.

Paniagua will be at the opening reception on Friday, January 25 at 6:00 pm
Both artists will be at the Arcadia Salon on Thursday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum

The Museum Will Be Closed On Thanksgiving Day

The Museum of Geometric & MADI Art will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd, 2018 in observance of Thanksgiving. It will reopen on Friday, November 26th &27th 2020 at 11 AM.
